If your bathroom is currently fitted with a one-piece bathtub and shower combination, which you rarely use to soak in, consider replacing it with an Italian shower. In order to accommodate the built-in shower tray, it may be necessary to build up the entire bathroom floor and add a step at the entrance. Consider adding a freestanding bath as the centrepiece of your bathroom.

Accessorise your bathroom

Update your bathroom affordably by adding or replacing accessories to create a sense of luxury and comfort. Replace worn out items, such as towels and bath mats, with a plush matching set, choosing a colour which contrasts with your current bathroom. Complete the makeover by adding a handful of new accessories, such as an elegant soap dispenser, a jewellery box, a scented candle or an indoor plant. Keep the items simple and place them throughout the room, avoiding too many patterns.

Add an accent wall tile

Are you looking to brighten up your bathroom? Try creating a feature wall by using a boldly-colored tile on one wall of your bathroom or in the interior of the shower. Mosaic tiles work fabulously on shower walls and floors and are easy to install in sections. Choose a color which complements the rest of your bathroom or alternatively select a contrasting color that will stand out as a design feature.
